Course Description
The Certificate in Higher Education (Cert HE) is a one-year stand-alone course and is designed for students who do not quite meet the entry criteria to go directly onto year 1 of a named degree. Applicants who apply for a degree but who do not meet, or are predicted to meet, the entry criteria will automatically be considered for a Cert HE providing the degree offers a Cert HE route.
The Cert HE follows the same first year modules as the degree with the addition of a 10-credit core module called Enhancing Academic Success.
This aims to develop subject specific study skills to help support you in terms of workload, and the requirement for independent learning. Module assessment depends on the course but includes tutorials, practical classes and workshops, as well as directed and independent study.
You will study alongside students on year 1 of the degree and will progress onto year 2 with your classmates, providing you successfully complete the course.
