Course Description

This programme addresses core themes in strategic studies. It is firmly grounded in an historical approach to the subject, both with a view to military history as well as with a view to strategic theory as a subfield of intellectual history and political theory. As an interdisciplinary degree between International Relations and History it is also linked with the Institute for the Study of War and Strategy. The programme will enable students to apply the knowledge of strategy-making and strategic thinking as a historical practice to armed conflict in the contemporary world.

A 15,000-word dissertation in an area of your choice. Assessment methods include a combination of examination and coursework.

For students staying in student halls, costs of water, gas, electricity, wifi are generally included in the rental.
