Course Description

Study the scientific principles of physical education and sport, with applied practical activities while developing your expertise in the classroom; all with the support of a strong partnership between the University and your placement school.

We have uniquely designed our PE Education course to enable you to gain a basic knowledge in an additional STEM specialism throughout your 3 years. You will also develop the awareness and ability to transfer these skills and teach in 2 subject areas across the STEM curriculum.

After 3 years of study, you will graduate as a teacher, qualified to teach PE and 1 other STEM subject. This will not only make you a highly desirable teacher, but will develop your confidence in teaching across the curriculum

Accredited by the Department for Education (DfE) for the purpose of delivering initial teacher training programmes to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS).

Minimum Required UCAS Tariff

Our typical offer is 120 UCAS points. You must also have five GCSEs at grade C or above, and these must include Mathematics and English Language, or equivalent qualifications. If you have studied for a GCSE which has a numerical grade then you will need to achieve a grade 4 or above. We will only accept equivalencies from equivalencytesting.com. In addition to academic qualifications, you must also: - Have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check - Disclose any criminal convictions (required by DES Circular 9/93) - Complete a medical pro forma (based on DFEE Circular 8/92)
