Course Description

Combine your fascination with the development, structure, and functioning of human society with the study of crime and its control, political issues such as freedom and democracy, or the study and impact of the main disciplines of Christian theology, on these joint humanities degrees.

Explore a wide range of themes and topics, from local, national, and global perspectives, and develop clear and confident research methods and analysis skills. Follow a broad approach to the study of sociology and your chosen discipline in your first two years, before examining particular topics in-depth, guided by the specialties of our experienced team of lecturers. Select other modules from our range of humanities subjects, including criminology, history, literature, philosophy, and theology, and apply your highly transferable skills to a wide variety of career paths, such as teaching, research, media, prison, policing and probation, marketing, churches, and religious agencies.

Please note that UHI North Highland, UHI Outer Hebrides and UHI West Highland have changed their names to become UHI North, West and Hebrides. This will not impact on your choice of course or how and where you will study.
