Course Description

Architectural technologists help to bring projects to fruition through making the technical decisions necessary to solve design problems. They need a sound understanding of the processes of design and construction and the management tools, particularly CAD, for the communication of design information. This course is structured so that you will learn to appreciate the multidisciplinary nature of the built environment, and gain a broad understanding of neighbouring disciplines. You will acquire the skills and knowledge to develop your career in an architectural design. This course is fully accredited by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists, the Chartered Institute of Building, and the Chartered Association of Building Engineers. You will be taught by full-time academics and visiting lecturers all of whom have industry experience and professional qualifications.

Accredited by the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE).

Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), having been judged to meet the CIOB Education Framework. Prospective members holding these qualifications have full academic exemption and may enter CIOB membership without the requirement for an Individual Assessment.

Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), and demonstrates that the programme has been assessed in terms of content, structure and resources and has met the required educational standards. Graduates from an Accredited programme will receive full academic exemptions from the professional qualification when progressing to Chartered Architectural Technologist status.

The University of Westminster is a publicly funded research university located in London, England. Beginning its existence as a polytechnic institute in 1838, it only became an officially recognized university much later, in 1992.
