- Google ratings:
- 4.4 (based on 80 student ratings)
“BGU has been the perfect place to study for me because it’s so small and intimate, so I really feel that the teacher and student get to know each other well, and this helps to work together more effectively. You can expect everybody here to know your name after a little while, and that’s valuable for me.”
“The quality of the tuition really depends on which teacher you’re working with, in my experience. In general getting your email questions answered by the teachers is difficult, so the best thing you can do is find them in person.”
“Something I really appreciate is that there’s a big effort made to put on activities for those of us who aren’t interested in clubbing and nightlife. This means you can expect quiz and bingo nights, for some wholesome fun! My only complaint, as everyone will tell you, is that the Wi-Fi is terribly unreliable so I recommend bringing your own internet USB.”
About Bishop Grosseteste University
PROS
- As BGU is a small university with less than 3,000 students, so there is a sense of familiarity among staff and students.
- Students appreciate that there’s a variety of accommodation buildings, including Wickham Hall, Constance Stewart Hall, and Cloud Houses. There are even more options off -campus that the university provides. Different locations and price points appeal to a wide range of students.
- Their library provides expert help and advice, from their staff who assist students in navigating the University’s research repository.
CONS
- Not much guidance is given to those looking for placement opportunities, students complain. To remedy this situation students claim that the career advice office would need to improve their activity.
- Students generally aren’t satisfied with the timetable organization, as classes are not distributed evenly throughout the week. This means some days are full of classes, while others have none.
