Buckinghamshire New University, also known as Bucks, was founded in 1893, in the town of High Wycombe, South East England. This university has chosen to divide its academic offerings into seven separate schools, which is reflected in that learning resources such as libraries are located in their relevant areas to reduce crowding and also increase the ease of looking for the materials the student needs. Bucks has been the recipient of numerous awards, among which we can find the Silver Award from TEF.

Highest subject rankings for Buckinghamshire New University
Student Reviews for Buckinghamshire New University
- Student satisfaction:
- 4.3 (based on 176 student reviews)
“The student life on offer here has made the experience so much better, as the student clubs correspond quite well with my interests. Academically, I found the 24 hour access to their library to be a lifesaver in my case, as I didn’t like studying in my student residence.”
“I would like to see more control from the security personnel when it comes to other students giving their friends and family members their access card, but this only happens now and then. What I appreciated most about how the university works is that they put a lot of emphasis on helping you find work with their career services office.
“Teaching quality is really good and the balance between theoretical and practical lessons too, great to get a better idea of what to expect from future employers.”
About Buckinghamshire New University
PROS
- Students praise the organised structure of the curriculums here, many agreeing that their course progressed in a logical and progressively more complex way.
- In terms of accolades and achievements, Bucks has been awarded the TEF Silver Award. The university also enjoys exceptionally strong post -graduation employment statistics.
CONS
- A recurring opinion from students is that there could be a more social initiative on campus, as in general there are not a lot of events to bring people together.
- High Wycombe is a small town, and students say that there isn’t a lot to do in the area. For this reason students recommend having a car, or taking public transport into London for a more interesting day out.
