Established in Central London in 1892, London South Bank University (LSBU) offers a learning experience where students receive tuition only from professionals and specialists with extensive working experience in their fields, outside of the academic setting. The campus’ location and LSBU’s strong employment statistics go hand-in-hand, as the majority of learners are able to find work placements or even full-time employment through the Employability Service office on-site. Living in their residence halls provides the most social experience, but living off-campus is also a viable option thanks to the extensive public transport options nearby.

Highest subject rankings for London South Bank University
Student Ratings for London South Bank University
“I studied business for two years at LSBU and I found that the staff are disorganised and the toilets are never clean. The best aspect about this university is the location, and all the opportunities this gives the student such as employment prospects and a vibrant nightlife scene”
“A convenient location in the heart of London. The tutors are approachable, but there are some issues with delayed information from the admin team. The campus has a modern and stylish look that I like, and it also provides all the learning resources I needed such as their Building Information Modelling Centre.”
“I spent my time here as a Civil Engineering Undergraduate, which I was allowed to do part-time due to my specific circumstances. As with any university, you get back what you give in effort, but I can say that the quality of tuition on theory and practical skills has been superb.”
About London South Bank University
PROS
- LSBU is located right in the middle of Central London, making moving around especially easy due to having every option available for public transport.
- Times Higher Education has ranked LSBU among the top 200 in the world for social impact. Students generally report improved employment prospects after graduating here.
- There are numerous student accommodation buildings, including Dante Road, David Bomberg House, McLaren House, New Kent Road, and Croydon and Havering. Each building has its own price point, and students can also receive assistance with renting privately.
CONS
- Some international students complain about the poor management and organisation during the enrolment process, as there are many steps, and the instructions are unclear according to these students.
- The campus could be better -maintained, as students complain about dirty bathrooms frequently. They suggest that the cleaning staff have to be given more working hours.
