Established in 1968, Newman University is based in the suburbs of the city of Birmingham, in the West Midlands. Located in a quiet residential area, NU is an hour away from Birmingham City Centre by bus. The campus overlooks Bartley reservoir and the scenic Worcestershire countryside. One of Newman’s values is being different, and it strives to do this mainly by keeping faculty numbers high in relation to student numbers, to guarantee that every student feels that they can get the individualised attention they need.

PROS
- A recurring source of praise from students is that the career office provides excellent service. Popular aspects of their support include StrengthsQuest, workshops, and work experience placement programmes.
- Newman offers various accommodation options at different price points. Their halls include Carrocci Hall, Beata Hall, Merlini Hall, and Fugate Hall. Applicants should be aware first -time students have priority in Carrocci Hall.
- Something that many students praise is the strong sense of community at Newman University, in part thanks to the shared vision of a Catholic institution among students and staff.
CONS
- The food sold at the canteen is not at the standards students expect. According to the students, this is due to poor quality, a lack of variation, and elevated prices.
- Many complain that the IT system goes down often, so the students are left without internet or e -book access.
