“I’m studying Acting here, and I’ve found the level of tuition to be high but also demanding. What I like most is the campus culture that they’ve achieved here, which is based on mutual support between students instead of competition. The teachers are easy to speak to and they’re happy to help.”

“The costume and props department here is impressive for their creative ability, and they provide almost all the materials we need on stage every time there’s a performance. This is the place to be in London if you’re an aspiring actor.”

About Royal Central School of Speech and Drama

PROS

  • The Royal Central School of Speech is easy to navigate due to its small campus size and intuitive layout. In addition to having small group sizes, the rooms are large and well equipped for the needs of Drama students.
  • Facilities are among the best in the UK for Drama, including a 230 seat proscenium arch theatre, 9 professional standard practice rooms, as well as recording studios.
  • When actors have to find audition opportunities for themselves, it helps that this school has a strong reputation among acting agencies.

CONS

  • Extra curricular activity options are limited, which is a problem for some students who would have liked the opportunity to meet more people in this way.
  • On the question of where to live, the school doesn’t own its own student accommodation. This is another factor that impacts social opportunities for students, but on the positive side the school does offer an Accommodation Support guidance service.
