The University of Tulsa (TU) is a privately run research university in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It traces its roots back to a presbyterian primary school for girls in the Muskogee, Indian Territory in 1882 and maintains a historical affiliation with the Presbyterian Church. Collegiate Gothic style buildings, built of materials sourced from neighbouring states, pepper the extensive, green campus which borders the famed U.S. Route 66. TU has received much recognition for its finance, petroleum engineering and law programs and has a diverse student population numbering approximately 3,700. TU is home to the Bob Dylan Archive and to the first mosque ever built on a university campus in the U.S.
