The University of California, Riverside, was established in 1954 in the city of Riverside, California. It is one of the ten campuses that belong to the University of California. The university is particularly known for its programs in earth sciences, entomology and its English studies, and a very strong creative writing program. On campus, the Entomology Research Museum houses one of the largest collections of insects in the country and the UCR library is home to the largest public collection of sci-fi, fantasy and horror writing in the world. UC Riverside has a reputation as one of the most inclusive universities in the state and enrolls the highest percentage of African American students of all 10 UC campuses, and the second highest percentage of Latino students.
