Victoria University (VU) refers to itself as the University of the West. By that they don’t mean the West of Australia, they mean the region west of Melbourne where most of their campuses are located. VU is a dual-sector institution, offering TAFE training as well as university degrees. VU is also the first university in Australia to use the Block Model teaching style for its undergraduate programmes.
