Established in 1865 and located in the city of Worcester, Massachusetts, Worcester Polytechnic Institute is a private research university. It was one of the first institutions in the United States dedicated to Engineering and Technology; however their portfolio has expanded immensely since its inception and now includes more than 70 programs in science, engineering, technology, business and management as well as the social sciences, and the humanities & arts. It enrolls over 4,000 students.
