• Academic pathways are the main focus of York College, reflected in their extensive resources for A -Levels and University Centre students, including the best classrooms and lecture halls that the college has to offer. Vocational courses are also available in York College, although their funding and resources are comparatively small.
• The Construction and Skills Centre provides specialist workshops, and these cater to the needs of those students who are enrolled in vocational subjects such as plumbing, brickwork and joinery. These large work spaces provide an environment that imitates your future workplace, allowing you to learn new skills under professional supervision.
• For those learners who need a reliable means of getting to college every day, York College provides their own student bus service which operates on 15 different routes. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the York College website.

CONS

• A common complaint from students is that the libraries are excessively noisy due to not being soundproofed from the college’s main entrance and atrium, where people are socialising and moving between classes.
• The college bus service only makes two journeys per day, one in the morning before classes and the other at the end of the day. This is inconvenient for those students whose classes end earlier than usual, and have to entertain themselves on -site until the bus arrives.
