Course Description

The Creative Writing and Publishing Industry degree at Aberystwyth University will give you a thorough understanding of the field. You will have the opportunity to turn your hand to a large number of different creative forms, from poems to short stories, from micro fiction to ekphrastic literature - fostering the ability to use them purposefully when creating. Furthermore, you will be introduced to the broad field of the publishing industry in Wales and beyond, with a particular focus on presses and on key agencies such as Welsh Literature and the Welsh Books Council.

Creative writing is a key skill that enriches all our lives. At Aberystwyth, you will have the opportunity to develop and refine your creative writing skills in a Department with a long tradition of leadership in this field.

A minimum grade C or grade 4 pass in GCSE (or equivalent) English or Welsh is a requirement for entry to all our degree schemes. Business, Mathematics, Psychology and Science degree schemes also require a minimum grade C or grade 4 pass in GCSE (or equivalent).
