Course Description
The aims and objectives of this programme are as follows:
Educational Aims:
To offer students a programme of Business Entrepreneurship including Innovation that is stimulating, robust and designed to meet their evolving needs and aspirations, academically and vocationally. To equip students with the necessary knowledge, as well as the analytical, conceptual and practical skills, required for the effective solution of problems associated with new ventures. To help students develop transferable intellectual, vocational and interpersonal skills resulting in the innovative mind-set that is required by an entrepreneur. Objectives:
To develop functional knowledge in areas of business research, business strategy, technology and innovation, marketing and finance to start up business ventures to create value for the entrepreneur and the society To develop enterprise competencies such as intuitive decision making, critical thinking, design thinking, influencing and leadership needed to create, manage and grow an entrepreneurship venture. To develop the mind-set required to generate ideas in response to identified needs through attributes such as open-mindedness, curiosity, pro-activity, persistence, negotiation and self-efficacy. To develop the ability to implement ideas through enterprise attributes such as emotional intelligence, persuasiveness, flexibility, adaptability, determination and resilience. To develop entrepreneurial behavioural qualities like storytelling, networking, building confidence, trust and motivating people.
