Course Description

The University of Plymouth will provide you with a complete training covering the entire primary curriculum, as well as a subject focus of your choice within a primary curriculum subject;

The subjects which can be chosen are;

• Mathematics • English • Science • History • Geography • RE • MFL • Art and Design • Design and Technology • Physical Education • Music • Computing

The programme is underpinned by a commitment to your well-being and achievement in a supportive and nurturing environment. Your learning will be led by highly experienced tutors who facilitate a wide range of practical experience and taught sessions to engage you in reflective and critical evaluation of research, policy and practice. You will be well supported during the course in your journey to becoming an outstanding teacher. Combined with this, the school-based experiences and teaching practices will enable you to become thoroughly prepared for taking on the role of class teacher from the outset. On completion, you will have earned Qualified Teacher Status with extensive classroom experience, making you a fully competent and confident teacher, ready to start your first job.
