Students who successfully complete this program will be awarded a degree as well as a license to practice within a range of early years organisations. Lectures will be delivered in the evening and on occasional Saturdays to enable students to continue working while they complete their degree. Linked to the practical aspect of the programme, students will develop their understanding of the practice and theory of early years education and care which will give them a full and balanced understanding of the subject. The program was developed to provide opportunities for learning about all aspects of the education and care of young children. The program provides opportunities to connect practical activities and experiences in the working environment with theories related to education and childcare. The learning will take place through group discussions, workshops, study visits as well as lectures in order to develop knowledge and understanding of a range of relevant subjects. There is an emphasis on practical learning in order to support understanding of the links between theory and practice within the early years.
