Utah’s capital city, Salt Lake City, continues to grow and diversify, making it an exciting place for young professionals and students alike. The nearby Wasatch and Oquirrh Mountains offer a natural backdrop that is absolutely stunning. With many young people moving to the area for job opportunities or to finish their studies, SLC has become one of the youngest cities in North America, demographically, with the two largest groups being between the ages of 25 to 34 and 5 to 14.

The city often tops the lists of best cities for outdoor enthusiasts due to its fresh mountain air, and the climate being stable throughout almost the whole year. When it snows, locals head to one of the ten ski resorts around the valley. Thanks to the city’s sustainable living initiatives, commuting is made easy with a variety of reliable public transportation options that greatly improve residents’ mobility.

Student Opinions About Studying in Salt Lake City

“I love Salt Lake City, I’ve lived here for a few years now, and I hope I don’t have to leave after graduation. The area is beautiful, with mountain views that never cease to amaze me. I came here to study Nursing at the University of Utah, and the quality of the tuition coupled with the social opportunities of SLC have made this a special experience for me.”

“SLC is visually stunning, and one of the safest cities I’ve lived in. The bus system is decent, and there are a lot of fun activities including a vibrant nightlife scene. I’ve been doing a lot of hiking and skiing here, which are activities I’d never done before I got here.”

“There’s a lot of cultural diversity in SLC, with people from many backgrounds, and generally the locals are welcoming towards foreigners. There are plenty of job opportunities even for students, and rent is pretty cheap compared to the average. I’m delighted I chose this city to come and study.”
