The name Savannah, Georgia usually brings to mind words like genteel and peaches, oaks and Spanish moss. The city is replete with beautiful architecture, lush vegetation, historic sites, great food and lots of things to see and do. Savannah is considered by many to be the most haunted city in the U.S., the Moon River Brewing Company, once the city hotel, is possibly the most ghostly locale of them all.
Unlike other large U.S. cities where you really can’t do without a car, Savannah is a walkable city and bike friendly too. There’s even a free shuttle service that will take you around the downtown area. You may want to have a car all the same though, because Savannah is located right beside the coast and there are great beaches and a beautiful coastline less than 30 minutes away from downtown. Tybee Island Beach, one of the most popular outings for Savannah residents, has 3 miles of sandy beaches and some of the best seafood you’ll ever have.

Student Opinions About Studying in Savannah
“Savannah is a great city. If you come from a large metropolis though it may feel a little small, but it’s easy to get used to it. There are many things to do, and being right near the coast is perfect for me because I’m a water person.”
“Savannah has a busy calendar of music events and activities throughout the year, and they’re a great way to meet new people, especially when you first move here. Downtown is just full of excellent places to eat, drink, or just hang out and relax. The yearly carnaval is a must for all newcomers.”
