Marietta College (MC) was founded in 1835 and is a private institution located in downtown Marietta, Ohio. As a Phi Beta Kappa liberal arts college, students must complete the following courses, regardless of their major, to ensure a well-rounded education: Civilization & Culture, Quantitative Reasoning, Artistic Expression, Scientific Enquiry, and Social Analysis. All students must have secondary education (minor), become proficient in a second language, and participate in an educational experience outside the classroom. Marietta College has an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students.
