Founded in 1874 and located in the town of Northfield, Minnesota, St. Olaf College is a private college which teaches at an undergraduate level only. The college has an excellent reputation and is among the top schools of its kind in terms of Fulbright Scholars and graduates who go on to complete doctoral degrees. St. Olaf, which was established by Norwegian immigrants to Michigan, is affiliated with the Lutheran Church. It enrolls just over 3,000 students. Among the many disciplines studied at St. Olaf College, special mention goes to their excellent visual arts and music programs; their ensembles and choirs are often heard on radio and film soundtracks.
