The University of Wollongong (UOW) began as part of what is now the University of New South Wales but has been an independent institution since 1975. Apart from the main campus in Wollongong (or The Gong as residents call it), UOW has multiple campuses in New South Wales and also a campus in Dubai. It has an excellent reputation both at home and internationally and is known as an innovative, dynamic institution which conducts forward thinking research.
