The third-largest university in the state of Michigan is Wayne State University, which was founded in 1868. Located in Detroit’s midtown, Wayne State is part of the University Research Corridor of Michigan and is committed to teaching its students to be creative, innovative and to break with the status quo. Students are encouraged to become involved with their community, both on-campus and off, by participating in (or helping to organize) the many events, activities, and volunteer programs organized at the university and in the process better their future professional opportunities.
