Designed in consultation with industry, our BA (Hons) in Business Economics will help you gain the fundamental principles of economics in regards to international finance, public policies and business management. On our BA (Hons) Business Economics, you’ll learn how to apply economic theories and data handling skills to analyse real-world economic and business problems. Additionally, you will learn to construct arguments and effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences.

On graduating you’ll have a solid understanding and be able to effectively identify and assess the impact of public policy on industry and society, as well as diverse business issues such as digitisation and technological change, the development of market economies, and social inequality, as well as the implications post Brexit. You will have gained skills and knowledge that are attractive to a range of employers across both public and private sectors.

Our graduates pursue careers in a variety of business-related roles in private and public companies, government and non-governmental organisations, as well as smaller specialist businesses.

What will I study? On this course you’ll learn about business and economics in an interconnected world, study contemporary issues affecting these fields and develop the professional skills you need for a successful career.

First year modules will provide you with a solid background in economics and management, while your second and final years provide some choice and flexibility, allowing you to tailor aspects of your degree and your assignments according to your interests and career ambitions.

How will I be taught and assessed? All our academics who teach on the programme have a wide range of educational and professional experience and have extensive links with industry.

We also welcome a wealth of guest speakers; top professionals from across industry come to Buckinghamshire New University to help you understand how your degree applies to working in business, and how you can learn from their experiences.

You'll be assessed through essays, coursework assignments, individual and group research projects, exams and a final-year dissertation or project.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate on projects and live briefs with students from other business management degree programmes, gaining the practical and transferable skills you need for your career.

For students staying in student halls, costs of water, gas, electricity, wifi are generally included in the rental. About Buckinghamshire New University

Buckinghamshire New University, also known as Bucks, was founded in 1893, in the town of High Wycombe, South East England. This university has chosen to divide its academic offerings into seven separate schools, which is reflected in that learning resources such as libraries are located in their relevant areas to reduce crowding and also increase the ease of looking for the materials the student needs. Bucks has been the recipient of numerous awards, among which we can find the Silver Award from TEF.
