Course Description
The agricultural industry is changing rapidly and in recent years advances in technology have led to an abundance of food production in the western world. This, together with changes in the support mechanisms for agriculture, has affected farm incomes, the countryside, rural communities and the public purse.
Increasingly farmers are looking to diversify their businesses and find alternative uses for rural land. There is an increasing demand for highly skilled practitioners with an understanding of the options available and the business management skills to lead on these developments.
4.years (full-time) including a one-year work placement. A three year programme is available for applicants with at least two years, full-time relevant work experience. Please contact Admissions for further information on this option.
Entry Requirements / Admissions
Minimum Required UCAS Tariff
Minimum of 3 A2 passes. The tariff requirement will be reduced to 96 points if a relevant Science or Maths A level is studied
Qualification requirements
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)
A minimum of DDM with the main subjects being Science or Maths. Also required: GCSE at C or above in English or English Language, Mathematics and in either Chemistry, or Physics or Dual Award Science.
31-30 overall or 665-655 in 3 HL subjects.
Including one in a relevant subject/science (90 UCAS tariff points)

For students staying in student halls, costs of water, gas, electricity, wifi are generally included in the rental.
