Course Description

Tourism is a fast-growing industry, Britain will have a tourism industry worth over £257 billion by 2025 - just under 10% of UK GDP and supporting almost 3.8 million jobs, which is around 11% of the total UK number. (Visit Britain) This course is designed to give you the best possible start to a career in the sector, taking full advantage of our prime location in one of the world's greatest tourist destinations.

The course is designed with your career in mind; it is accredited by the Institute of Hospitality and you'll benefit from placements, field trips and guest lectures held with industry leaders.

UEL is conveniently located a short walk away from London City Airport and some of the capital's most famous venues - including the Excel Centre and O2 Arena - and learning in London gives you access to some of the best hotels, restaurants and visitor attractions in the world.

**Year 1 - 100% coursework** **Year 2 - 95% coursework, 5% examination** **Year 3 - 80% coursework, 20% practical** Assessment tasks are mainly spread across the year to make the workload manageable. Assessment methods include group works, exams and individual work including essays, presentations, case studies, professional development and practical activities depending on the nature of the course. All grades count towards your module mark. More details will be included in the student handbook and module guides. Feedback is provided within 15 working days in line with UEL's assessment and feedback policy.

The University of East London, often abbreviated to UEL, states their goal being to become the leading careers-focused university in the United Kingdom. UEL operates from three different campuses; Stratford Campus, Docklands Campus, and University Square Stratford.
