Course Description
The Clinical LLB Honours is an innovative degree which is thought to be unique in the UK, and possibly in the world.
Gain four years of clinical experience through membership of Scotland’s first and largest Law Clinic, which is run by students for members of the public who cannot afford a lawyer and are not eligible for legal aid.
Benefit from the opportunity to observe how law operates in practice, applying a theoretical understanding of law to real-life cases.
Gain valuable professional skills whilst providing access to justice for members of the public.
The four-year Clinical LLB is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland and the Faculty of Advocates.

1. Stage One: Once you have submitted your UCAS application you will be invited to submit an application to the Strathclyde Law Clinic. This is a paper based application which will be sent to you directly by the Department. This application will be considered by members of the Law Clinic. If you are successful at this stage, you will proceed to stage two. 2. Stage Two: Applicants who reach stage two will be required to interview face to face for a position in the Law Clinic. For applicants based overseas, this may be done by Skype. Applicants who are unsuccessful at interview may be made an alternative offer on a non-Clinical LLB programme. Entry to the Clinical degree is conditional upon successful completion of a Law Clinic application form and interview. Application forms will be sent out with conditional offers and interviews will be held in February/March. Importantly, applicants who are not successful in both stages of this process will still be offered a place on the LLB Honours Law degree, subject to the entry requirements listed above being met. For this reason, it is not necessary to apply for both programmes and use up two UCAS options; simply apply for the Clinical LLB in the first instance

Undergraduate students who live in Scotland will usually have their tuition fees paid by the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS). If you have previously attended university or college or are not sure about your eligibility, you should contact SAAS to check your eligibility to have your fees paid. SAAS will pay your tuition fees directly to Strathclyde.
Most undergraduate students from the rest of the UK (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) will receive a free year of tuition as, assuming no change in Rest of UK fees policy over the period, the total amount payable by undergraduate students will be capped. For students commencing study next session, this is capped at £27,750. Students studying on Integrated Masters degree programmes pay an additional £9,250 for the Masters year with the exception of those undertaking a full-year industrial placement where a separate placement fee will apply.
