Course Description
Our Vocal Performance degree is a specialist program for singers focused on the industry. With pathways for the classical and popular voice the Welsh Academy of Voice and Dramatic Arts provides a rich and varied environment for creative practice.
Based in Cardiff, the program is delivered by nationally and internationally renowned academics and specialist practitioners within a specialist facility. All students on the BMus program will receive 1-to-1 training with a voice tutor to develop vocal technique, and support in developing an understanding of the broad discipline of vocal performance and everything related to that.
Vocal performance is a complex discipline that brings together a multitude of skills from among the performing arts; this program embraces that and aims to enable students to be flexible and adaptable performers.
The main aspects of learning on the BMus Vocal Performance course include vocal technique and repertoire study, stage craft, music theory, recording, vocal health, the creative industries and a number of performance opportunities. Each year students will take part in an intensive large-scale performance project working with industry experts to deliver a public performance.
