The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities is a public, land-grant, research university founded in 1851. It is both the flagship and has the largest campus of the University of Minnesota System. The campus is spread out between Minneapolis and Falcon Heights, a suburb of the state capital, Saint Paul and the university provides a shuttle service between the two while campus security is always available to accompany a student late at night. With more than 5,000 international students each year, this institution of higher education offers its students the diversity they need and the opportunity to encounter people and ideas from around the world.

  • There are many things to see and do on campus and in the surrounding area. Students are invited to participate in one of the active clubs and organisations available on campus, such as the UMN Rocket Team, Students for the Horn of Africa, or the School Psychology Student Association.
  • Limitless opportunities to be involved in research, and also in numerous extracurricular activities.

  • The dorms are expensive compared to residences at some other universities in the region.
