Please note that Combined Honours degrees at Liverpool Hope University are split 50/50. This means both subjects will be studied equally.

Mathematics Mathematics is a fascinating and exciting subject. It is the language of modern Business and Commerce, Engineering, Science and Technology and is as old as mankind. As the universal language of science it is the best tool we have to describe reality. At Liverpool Hope, you will develop a passion and enthusiasm for mathematics and its applications. Mathematics encompasses many analytical and numerical methods that are used to solve scientific and industrial problems.

Mathematics at Liverpool Hope has been designed to help you develop strong analytical and numerate abilities and skills so that you learn how to look at problems, break them down into simpler questions and then solve them. Mathematics at Liverpool Hope can be taken as a single honours degree or a combined honours degree with a related subject.

The degree will cover all areas of mathematics including pure mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. By the end of the degree, you will be confident in tackling real world problems mathematically. Tourism Tourism is one of the world’s largest industry and has become one of its biggest sources of employment. Our Tourism degree looks at tourism from both management and academic perspectives. It looks at issues such as the structure of the tourism industry; impacts of tourism on people and the environment; the emergence of new forms of tourism to rival the package holiday; tourism destination management and global tourism development.

We pay close attention to enhancing your student experience and facilitating effective student learning. You will be taught by a team of tutors with a wide range of practical and academic experience of Tourism.

Our degree curriculum embeds material which aims to not only provide an in-depth, up-to- date knowledge on tourism, but also to refine critical thinking and develop your key transferable skills. We work closely with local tourism stakeholders to ensure the Tourism degree benefits local societies.

About Liverpool Hope University

Liverpool Hope University, also known as Hope, was founded in 1844 on the outskirts of Liverpool. Hope is formally affiliated with the Christian-Ecumenical religion, and provides spaces to practice your faith, including the EDEN building and Hope Chapel. Applicants can expect to find 12 research centres here, 2 modern libraries with knowledgeable librarian staff, and all of the on-site amenities you would expect as a student. Whenever you need some time away from the campus in your free time, Liverpool’s vibrant City Centre is just a 40-minute bus ride away.
