Course Description
The BA (Hons) Fashion Studies Top-Up degree allows students who have completed a relevant qualification such as a BTEC, HND or a Foundation degree to fast-track their path to a full undergraduate degree. This programme is also suitable for returners looking to upgrade their skills and qualifications to improve their employability, or in preparation for a return to study ready for a fashion Master’s programme. This programme is of particular interest as well for international students looking to top up their qualifications with an undergraduate fashion degree from a reputable UK university.
The BA (Hons) in Fashion Studies course is a great way to formalise your work experience, prepare you to become a leader in the fashion industry, change your career path or start your own fashion business. It provides knowledge and skills in the fashion industry and up-to-date business and management processes, opportunities to create an industry relevant fashion portfolio and a final major project relevant to your career aspirations.

With a shortage of skills across many diverse avenues within fashion, the course will fill the gap in these new risen markets, preparing prospective students towards a more viable, and creative future.
Our focus will be on the implementation of career-focused skills, industry knowledge, technical and creative skills and understanding of the industry drive for more sustainable and ethical design for today's fashion climate. Emphasis on integrating digital innovation and promotion will be a continuous addition in the teaching across most if not all modules.
Our BA Fashion Studies degree is developed in response to research by the British Fashion Council (2016) and the National Careers Service (2016) that the fashion industry in an increasingly global economy needs more graduates with relevant entrepreneurial and transferable skills. The provision also recognises the skills needed by overseas students seeking career progression in the international fashion sector.

Qualification requirements
ALL applicants must possess a Level 5 qualification, such as an HND or FdA in a relevant area in order to be considered for this course. A copy of your HND/FdA module transcripts will be requested, and the original required to be seen at enrolment.

For students staying in student halls, costs of water, gas, electricity, wifi are generally included in the rental. The University of East London, often abbreviated to UEL, states their goal being to become the leading careers-focused university in the United Kingdom. UEL operates from three different campuses; Stratford Campus, Docklands Campus, and University Square Stratford. The Docklands Campus is the largest of the three campuses, and is just a 15-20 minute walk away from Central London, and 10-15 minutes away from Canary Wharf by train.
