Course Description
BA Product Design (Product Design) - this course is taught through the medium of Welsh. For the English-medium course, please see Product Design W240.
If you are interested in realizing your imagination, this is the course for you. It focuses on a wide variety of design sectors, and immerses you in design and manufacturing. You will study design thinking and human-centred design methodologies. Each year project work placements with industrial partners will challenge and develop you creatively and professionally, allowing you to gain experience of various work environments, projects and companies.

Everything in our built environment has been created by people for people. Designers come from different backgrounds, some have creative skills, some have technical skills, but all are visionaries and dedicated to improving the world around them.. Product Design covers various careers for creative people who want to solve problems, innovate and change the world. If you are interested in turning your imagination into reality, this is the course for you. It focuses on a wide variety of design sectors, and immerses you in design and manufacturing. Each year project work placements with industrial partners will challenge and develop you creatively and professionally, allowing you to gain experience of various work environments, projects and companies. 'International Experience Year' and 'Year on Placement' options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to consider these options fully after starting your course in Bangor and you can apply to transfer to one of these options at the appropriate time. Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)
The Welsh Baccalaureate Skills Challenge Certificate will be accepted in lieu of one A Level at the A Level grades specified, excluding any subject specific requirements.
Where an applicant is taking the EPQ in a relevant subject this might be considered alongside other Level 3 qualifications and may attract an alternative offer in addition to the standard offer. If you are taking A Levels, this would be BBB-ABB at A Level (preferably including a foreign language) and grade A in the EPQ.

31-30 overall or 665-655 in 3 HL subjects.
Including a relevant subject/science @ C or above (80 UCAS tariff points)
