Course Description
If you have a relevant foundation degree, this course will provide you will the skills and knowledge required to achieve a full BA Honours.
This course allows you to work while you learn, attending formal study one day per week. Work-based research means you can apply the taught theories directly to your activities outside of the course. Our team has close links with organisations like Active Kent and Medway which adds another dimension to your studies.
You'll examine the wide context of physical education at all ages and you'll explore contemporary issues that apply to physical education,
physical activity and sport settings. Throughout the course, you'll develop and apply advanced subject knowledge, skills and understanding in a range of practical activities.
On successful completion of the course, you'll be able to graduate with a BA (Hons) in Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport.

Specialist facilities
Our Verena Holmes building, at the heart of our Canterbury Campus, houses impressive lab equipment, including a set of sports laboratories and an excellent team of highly qualified lab technicians to support you.
Location
This course is run at our Canterbury Campus in Kent. Canterbury is just 50 miles south-east of London and less than an hour by high-speed train from St Pancras. Located on a UNESCO World Heritage Site the campus offers state-of-the-art buildings, right in the centre of a vibrant and world-famous cathedral city. You’ll benefit from a campus with excellent learning and teaching resources, music venues, a superb sports centre, a well-stocked bookshop and plenty of coffee bars and places to eat. A short walk away is Augustine House our award-winning library and home to a vast range of learning resources and student support teams.
Entry Requirements / Admissions
Minimum Required UCAS Tariff
Applicants to the Foundation Degree in Physical Education and Physical Activity must normally have: a GCSE at grade C (or equivalent) in English Language; an 'A' Level or equivalent qualification in the specialist pathway and /or a minimum of 6 months experience (or equivalent) of teaching or supporting learners in an educational setting within the specialist pathway; be employed, or working voluntarily, for 10 hours / week in a relevant setting. Scottish Higher qualifications are considered on an individual basis

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

London costs approx 34% more than average, mainly due to rent being 67% higher than average of other cities. For students staying in student halls, costs of water, gas, electricity, wifi are generally included in the rental.
